Amy Winehouse Was Adopting Child

Amy Winehouse may have been softer than she sometimes appeared: The Sunday Mirror reports that Winehouse was planning to adopt a 10-year-old girl from St. Lucia before her sudden death July 23. The girl, Dannika Augustine, met Winehouse at Augustine’s grandmother’s beach bar in 2009, near the villa where Winehouse lived for much of the past three years. According to the grandmother, Winehouse had already hired lawyers, and both parents had agreed to the adoption. Says Dannika, “Amy was already my mother. I would call her mum and she would call me her daughter. She took care of me and we had fun together. I loved her and she loved me.”
