The legal team for Andrew McCabe, the former acting FBI director, has met with Justice Department investigators scrutinizing him for possibly making false statements to the Department of Justice’s top watchdog, his lawyer Michael Bromwich confirmed to reporters Thursday morning. Bromwich said the investigation is ongoing. Last year, the department’s Inspector General concluded he lacked candor when discussing his handling of press relations with them, and referred their probe to the D.C. U.S. Attorney’s Office for potential prosecution.
