Occupy Wall Street-mockers take note: even the Daily Beast's Andrew Sullivan, a longtime hippie-hater, says they may be on to something this time. Writing in the latest issue of Newsweek, Sullivan says he has grown to appreciate the Occupiers' message; after watching the movement spread throughout the globe, he realized "the genie of Tahrir Square could not be bottled up in Egypt for very long." Demanding responsibility from the wealthy elite is not counterculture, it’s responsible. We no longer live under capitalism, but in a system composed of corruption and debt. “These goddam hippies are not as radical as they might seem,” Sullivan writes.
