In what has become a terrifying pattern of assaults, China suffered its third major knife attack in nine weeks. On Tuesday morning, four attackers wielding knives injured at least six people in Guangzhou, hacking victims in the head and neck. Like the previous two attacks, the most recent assault took place at a railway station. One suspect was shot and another was arrested. The other two are reportedly at large. China has recently been struggling with a surge in public acts of violence. While the most recent attacks have often been blamed on the Uighur minority, the identities of Tuesday’s attackers was not yet made available.
