Another woman came forward to accuse Russell Simmons of rape on Tuesday, bringing the total number of people with sexual-misconduct allegations against the music mogul to over a dozen. Alexia Norton Jones, the granddaughter of late publisher W.W. Norton, told Variety that Simmons raped her in 1990 following a date at his Manhattan apartment. The model and actress claimed that Simmons pinned her against the wall and proceeded to force himself on her. “It was such a fast attack,” she said. “He pulled my dress up. I must have said no seven to 10 times.” Jones said she reported the incident to the New York Police Department last spring, but the statute of limitations had passed. Simmons, in a statement, said that Jones did not “share these feelings about her first sexual encounter with me, which took place roughly 28 years ago.” He also said that they dated for two months, which Jones denies. In January, the NYPD opened an investigation into the multiple allegations against Simmons.
