A second class-action lawsuit was filed on Tuesday against Ohio State University on behalf of a John Doe former student-athlete at the school who was allegedly sexually assaulted by Dr. Richard Strauss. Doe was abused more than a dozen times during his time on the team in the early 1980s, according to the complaint. The federal lawsuit added only more fire to the ongoing scandal about whether U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan knew about the allegedly rampant sexual abuse on male student-athletes during his time at the school. News stories about Jordan were referenced in the complaint, but the lawmaker is not named as a defendant in the case. “This is not what you expect to happen when our children go off to college. Our client is courageously adding his voice on behalf of the many individuals who have been victimized while students at OSU,” lawyer Joe Sauder said in a statement. “We look forward seeking compensation for our client and all individuals who were sexually assaulted by Dr. Strauss. We also will be seeking to implement changes at OSU so this never happens again.”
