Ant-Man raked in $58 million in its debut at the box office this weekend, beating out Minions and Trainwreck to snag first place. Though it fell short of expectations to bring in $60 million, Ant-Man still took the top spot and became the 12th Marvel Cinematic Universe film to do so. Despicable Me spinoff Minions dropped to No. 2, bringing in just $50.2 million after opening as the second biggest animated debut ever last weekend. Trainwreck came in third with just $30.2 million, which was well above early estimates.
