NO TRIAL

Anti-Abortion Shooter Deemed Incompetent

Robert Dear killed three at a Planned Parenthood.

Robert Dear, the shooter who killed three at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado, was deemed incompetent to stand trial Wednesday by Judge Gilbert Martinez. The ruling comes after the judge heard evaluations from state psychologists. Instead of facing prison time, Dear will undergo in-patient treatment at a state hospital. Dear reportedly yelled at the judge, “That’s called prejudiced! Prejudiced! Filthy animal!” as he was led out of the courtroom. Following the ruling, Whitney Phillips, spokesperson for Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, said in a statement: “We respect the Court’s determination and we appreciate the District Attorney’s continued efforts to bring Mr. Dear to Justice.”
