Huffington Post bloggers may be up in arms about working for free, but some AOL workers are even less lucky: they’re going to be out of work entirely. CEO Tim Armstrong announced some 900 layoffs in a memo to staff Thursday. Most of them will be in India, but 200 editorial employees in the U.S. are also getting the axe. Armstrong also announced several organizational changes and said the AOL Media brand will continue. Fired employees will receive a severance package, but the details aren’t public. AOL purchased the Huffington Post for $315 million in February.
