The AP said the article in question was “full of errors, inaccuracies, and baseless innuendo.” It also accused the writer, Nate Thayer, a former AP stringer, of being “disgruntled.” Thayer had reported that an agreement between North Korea and the AP gave the government control of the bureau and its staff, and that the AP agreed to distribute North Korean propaganda.
