AP Race & Ethnicity Editor Sues for Discrimination

Associated Press race and ethnicity editor Sonya Ross filed a discrimination lawsuit Monday alleging the news organization denied her opportunities for promotion because of race, age, and gender considerations. The ex-White House reporter, who first joined the AP as an intern in 1986, claims the company retaliated against her after she complained about poor treatment based on her race; and according to the lawsuit, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs found the AP housed a hostile work environment toward black employees.
