Apple Developing New iPad

Apple has a new iPad on the way, according to the company’s component suppliers. Apple has already placed orders for parts for about 1.5 million iPad 3s in preparation for the device’s launch in early 2012. The new tablet will feature a high-resolution screen—2048 by 1536 pixels compared with the iPad 2’s 1024 by 768. Apple’s net profit more than doubled last quarter, thanks in part to sales of the iPad 2. But the new version will enter a more crowded market, with Samsung, Motorola, and Toshiba having since launched similar devices.
