A jury in the U.S. has ordered Samsung to pay $529 million to Apple over patent infringements. Apple sued Samsung in 2011 alleging that it copied patented features in its phones, and Samsung was found to be in violation of those patents in 2012. But disputes over the price tag of Samsung’s penalty took six years. “We believe deeply in the value of design,” Apple said in a statement. “This case has always been about more than money.” Samsung said it would “consider all options to obtain an outcome that does not hinder creativity and fair competition for all companies and consumers.”
