Apple unveiled a new line of iPads, including gold versions of the iPad Air and iPad Mini, during a Thursday event at the company’s Cupertino campus. The iPad Air 2 comes with an improved camera, a faster processor, a barometer that senses elevation changes, and Touch ID. Apple also unveiled Apple Pay, a payments platform for the iPhone 6. The iPad Air 2 is now 18 percent thinner (for a width of 6.1 millimeters) and also now comes with a coating that reduces reflections by 56 percent. iPad sales have decreased by more than 9 percent in the quarter ending in June, compared to the same period last year.
