Four alleged smugglers have been arrested in Argentina for attempting to make off with more than a ton of meteorites, which are protected. The four alleged criminals, three Argentines and a Paraguayan, were caught during a random truck stop during which police found 215 large chunks of meteorites. The theft took place in Chaco, the site of a major meteor shower 4,000 years ago.
