Facing a shortage of beef, Argentina's President Cristina Fernandez has launched a new advertising campaign pushing the other white meat on her people. Why? Because it's sexy. "I didn't know that eating pork improved sexual activity, [but] it is much more gratifying to eat some grilled pork than to take Viagra," Fernandez said this week. Announcing new subsidies for the swine industry Thursday, the president tucked into a pork chop alongside her husband, Nestor Kirchner, Argentina's former president. A drought has caused a beef shortage in a country where the average consumer eats 165 pounds of it per year.
