Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, and Tame Impala will headline this year’s Coachella festival—but Kanye West is nowhere to be seen on the lineup, following reports of a falling out with its organizers. The two-weekend event will take place on April 12-14 and April 19-21 at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California. Grande, one of the biggest names in music following the release of “thank u, next,” which smashed YouTube viewing records, will headline the Sunday slot. Gambino will take the stage as Friday’s headliner, with Tame Impala on Saturday. TMZ reported Wednesday that Kanye was in discussions to appear at the festival but pulled out over staging disagreements with organizers, reportedly saying the traditional 60 x 40 foot stage was “artistically limiting.” Goldenvoice, which produces the festival, would not allow the stage to be altered or removed, with one source from Kanye’s camp reportedly saying: “It’s the same type of stage on which Shakespeare’s works were performed hundreds of years ago.”
