The U.S. military must stop using male pronouns to describe Chelsea Manning, the Army Court of Criminal Appeals ruled Wednesday. Manning is a private in the Army and a trans woman who is serving a 35-year prison sentence for leaking classified information to Wikileaks. The court said that all formal papers and decisions by the court "shall either be neutral...or employ a feminine pronoun." Manning began receiving hormone therapy last month after winning a lawsuit against the Department of Defense.
