Peter Blanken, Aruba's Chief Prosecutor, has announced that he will send a team of lawyers to Peru to interrogate Joran van der Sloot over the death of Alabama teen Natalie Holloway. Van der Sloot, who has been twice held and released in connection with her 2005 disappearance, is behind bars in Peru after confessing to the murder of 21-year-old student Stephany Flores. Before September, Blanken says he anticipates dispatching two police officers and Mrs. Alivia Lugo, a public prosecutor who had been assigned to the Holloway case, to Peru to question Van der Sloot, who recently told Peruvian police that he was willing to speak with Aruban officials and reveal the location of Holloway's body. In the past, Van der Sloot has provided several conflicting accounts of Holloway's disappearance. "I hope he is speaking the truth because we really want to solve this case, even after five years,” Blanken said, “just to be clear on what happened and so the family knows what happened."
