A major ground offensive is reportedly set to begin in Syria, supporting Russian airstrikes which began this week. The offensive will include hundreds of Iranian troops who have arrived in the country over the past 10 days, joining Hezbollah. The aim of the offensive is to regain ground lost by Bashar al-Assad to Syrian rebels.
