Assad Denies Using Chemical Weapons

WMDS

“Any rebel can make sarin.”

Oh really? “Any rebel can make sarin,” embattled President Bashar al-Assad said in an interview with Fox News, denying the Syrian government ever used chemical weapons on its people. Assad said that the shocking videos of victims following a chemical weapons attack could have been forged, but said if they did occur, it would be “despicable. It’s a crime.” Acknowledging his stockpile of chemical weapons, Assad said he is prepared to destroy them, but that the operation is “complicated,” would cost a billion dollars, and would take “a year—maybe a little bit less, maybe a little bit more.”
