Houston Astros pitcher Justin Verlander said on Twitter Saturday that he would donate his season’s paycheck to a variety of organizations fighting the new coronavirus. His salary would have been $33 million for the season, according to ESPN, but Major League Baseball has cancelled its 2020 season. Appearing alongside Verlander, his wife Kate Upton said, “We’re going to pick an organization every week who’s doing really good work right now and donate the entire week’s paycheck.”
