At least 39 people were reported dead Sunday after a 7-Magnitude earthquake struck Indonesia’s resort islands of Lombok and Bali, just days after another quake killed more than a dozen in the same area. A one-year-old child and an elderly man were reportedly among those killed, though no further details were available on the other victims. Another 52 people were injured during the quake. Residents of Lombok’s main city of Mataram described mass panic after the tremors. “Everyone immediately ran out of their homes, everyone is panicking,” one resident told Agence France-Presse. Local authorities reported widespread power outages and significant structural damage throughout the area. In Bali, a popular tourist hotspot, witnesses said people rushed out of hotels and restaurants in hordes. “All the hotel guests were running, so I did too. People filled the streets,” Michelle Lindsay, an Australian tourist, told Reuters.
