Two people are confirmed dead and dozens injuries after an acetic acid leak at the LyondellBasell chemical plant in suburban Houston early Wednesday morning. At least six of the injured were taken to area hospitals with burns related to breathing or coming into contact with the chemical. LyondellBasell officials told local media that the acid is used in food-grade vinegar and is considered dangerous if swallowed or inhaled. It is unclear how the leak happened.
