Atlanta Teachers Convicted for Cheating

Nailed on racketeering.

After a six-year investigation and subsequent trial, 11 former Atlanta public school teachers have been convicted of racketeering for fixing answers on students’ state standardized tests. Only one teacher, Dessa Curb, was acquitted. The teachers came under suspicion in 2008 when the Atlanta Journal-Constitution published a story on a suspiciously high increase in test scores. It has been referred to as one of the largest cheating scandals in U.S. history.
