Trump Plaza was shuttered Tuesday at 6 a.m., making it the fourth Atlantic City casino to close in 2014. The Atlantic Club, the Showboat, and Revel casinos already closed this year, cutting the number of casinos in the city famous for gambling by a third. Trump Plaza’s sister casino, the Taj Mahal, could also be shut down in November. Atlantic City has struggled to stay afloat among new competition as casinos have cropped up in nearby states.
