Actor Verne Troyer’s death this past April has been ruled a suicide, the Los Angeles County coroner announced Wednesday. The actor, who was best known for playing Mini-Me opposite Mike Myers in two Austin Powers films, died in April from symptoms related to alcohol intoxication. The 49-year-old had struggled with alcohol abuse and was hospitalized with suspected alcohol poisoning three weeks before he died April 21. A notice released after his death highlighted concerns about depression and suicide, stating, “Verne was also a fighter when it came to his own battles. Over the years he’s struggled and won, struggled and won, struggled and fought some more, but unfortunately this time was too much.”
