Baz Luhrmann is a film and theater director, screenwriter, producer, and record producer. In addition to co-writing and directing the 2013 film version of The Great Gatsby, he is known for his Red Curtain Trilogy, comprising his romantic comedy film Strictly Ballroom (1992), the romantic drama Romeo + Juliet (1996), and the pastiche-jukebox musical Moulin Rouge! (2001), as well as his albums and song collaborations for Moulin Rouge! and The Great Gatsby. Additional projects for theater include stage productions of Puccini's La Bohème for Broadway and Strictly Ballroom (musical).
