Danielle Neftin is a Master of International Affairs graduate student at Columbia University SIPA where she specializes in media, cybersecurity, and Russian regional studies. Prior to Columbia, Danielle received her Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and Media Studies from The New School. Danielle had worked in international media for 8 years at VICE. While at VICE, Danielle had the opportunity to travel to Russia’s Siberian region to produce and co-host a documentary about the present day effects of the Soviet Union’s nuclear past. In 2021, Columbia's Harriman Institute awarded Danielle with a language fellowship to study advanced Russian at Harvard University. Danielle’s research interests include technology policy, internet democratization and fragmentation, Russian foreign policy, and information operations.
