Laura Lippman, the award-winning author of the Tess Monaghan series, makes the case for five books from her shelves—from a collection by a rising star to a classic novel that evokes “writing as a petty act of vengeance.”
Joanne Lipman founded and was Editor in Chief of Condé Nast Portfolio, the business magazine and Web site, from 2005 to 2009. Portfolio was the recipient of numerous honors, including National Magazine and Loeb awards. Previously, Lipman was a Deputy Managing Editor of The Wall Street Journal. Lipman first joined the Journal as a reporter, and during her career there created and was Editor in Chief of Weekend Journal, created Personal Journal, and served as a Page One editor.
