Author vents her anger at bestselling debut novelists—except Snooki.
Valerie Frankel has written twenty-five books (e.g., The Accidental Virgin and The Girlfriend Curse), and contributed to dozens of publications including the New York Times, Self, Allure, Glamour, Mademoiselle, Redbook, Parenting and Good Housekeeping. Her just released memoir, It's Hard Not to Hate You, was described as "refreshing, entertaining, cathartic, warm and funny" by Publishers Weekly.
Thin Is the New Happy, her previous memoir about body image and chronic dieting, was called "Rueful, zestful and surprisingly funny," by the New York Times. Her new novel, Four of a Kind, will be published in March 2012. Frankel co-authored Men Are Stupid . . . And They Like Big Boobs: A Woman's Guide to Beauty Through Plastic Surgery with Joan Rivers.
More recently, Frankel collaborated with Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi on her novel A Shore Thing. Frankel lives in Brooklyn with her daughters, cats and husband, the opera singer Stephen Quint. For more info, go to www.valeriefrankel.com.
