Michelle Obama’s European vacation is now history, but designers are still swooning over her fashion choices. Azzedine Alaïa is thrilled that the First Lady wore one of his looks to a dinner in Baden-Baden. He’s so thrilled, in fact, that he’s ready to rush to her defense. Oscar de la Renta recently criticized Obama for not wearing enough American fashion, and in response, Alaia snarked: “It’s not up to him to give her lessons; Michelle Obama is of her time; Oscar de la Renta is no longer.” Ouch.
