Bekah Martinez, a contestant on this season of ABC’s The Bachelor, was on Humboldt County, California’s missing-persons list while she was vying for Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s heart on national television. She was reported missing by her mother at 1:06 a.m. on Nov. 18, and last seen on Nov. 12. She had reportedly moved to Humboldt to work on a marijuana farm. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was actively investigating the case, even while Martinez actively posted to her Instagram account on Nov. 23 and appeared on The Bachelor contestant website on Jan. 1. Naturally, this bizarre controversy comes as Humboldt County’s missing-persons operation has come under scrutiny.
