Giorgio Armani’s ready-to-wear show is always the climactic send-off for Milan Fasion Week: the week’s big finale that energizes editors and buyers before they decamp to Paris. And the collection that came down the runway Monday was no exception: it was a beautiful, dreamlike send-up called “Light and Shadows.” It featured feminine silver-gray suits, long floral jackets, and giant, dramatic hats. See highlights from backstage, as photographed by The Daily Beast’s Kevin Tachman.

In the show notes, the designer said that he worked with "fabrics that transform and play with volume and style: an absolute freedom of shape that is fluid and far removed from the body."
