A Delta ramp agent was arrested on the suspicion of helping to smuggle firearms onto passenger planes. Federal authorities arrested Eugene Harvey, 31, in New York City for trafficking firearms, violating airport security, and helping others to do so. According to an affidavit filed December 19, Harvey conspired with former Delta worker Mark Quentin Henry to smuggle guns that had been purchased in Atlanta and were set to be sold in New York City. Harvey helped Henry while assigned to the baggage transfer room at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Henry was caught by authorities on December 10 with 18 handguns in his backpack after flying from Atlanta to New York City. According to the affidavit, Henry smuggled 129 gun and rifles through airport security multiple times from May to December. Henry had been fired by Delta, but for abusing its buddy pass system.
