The government of Bahrain has detained at least six opposition leaders just days after it declared a three-month emergency rule. The arrested leaders include Hassan Mushaima and Abdul Jalil al-Sangaece. The government had previously attempted to to try the two leaders, before dropping charges in an attempt to ease tensions with protesters. At least five people died on Wednesday as soldiers and police cleared protesters from Manama’s central square.
