After stints in London and Barcelona, the John Baldessari exhibit returns to the artist’s native California. The show, Pure Beauty, goes on display at LACMA this week, featuring 150 conceptual works from 1962 to the present, including the remnants of Baldessari’s infamous Cremation Project from 1966, a piece in which he burned all of his work from 1953 to the time of the inferno.
