Many wondered why Balmain’s designer Christophe Decarnin failed to attend the Paris Fashion Week reveal of the fashion house’s latest collection on Thursday. According to Hint magazine’s blog, Decarnin was a no-show because he’s been in a mental hospital since January, after suffering a nervous breakdown. The site claims he disappeared in mid-January and soon thereafter, employees were told he would not return. Balmain’s in-house team reportedly designed the latest collection, along with stylist Melanie Ward. Backstage, according to Hint, Balmain’s owner said, “He's tired, after working on the collection. He's not here. He's resting.”
