A 23-year-old man in Bangladesh has been detained in connection with the extensive series of killings of liberal bloggers over the last three years. Saiful Islam, the suspect, is a teacher at an Islamic school. He was identified as a co-conspirator by other attackers fleeing another recent bloody scene. At least 39 people have been killed in this kinds of attacks since February 2013, often involving machetes, guns and bombs. Islam was arrested after he was found to be carrying a machete and an unregistered pistol.
