Banksy Directs Simpsons 'Couch Gag'

Cameos

Grim scene of child labor.

The artist Banksy directed the “couch gag” of the opening credits for the new episode of the Simpsons on Sunday night. He created a minute-long scene that shows how your Simpsons sausage gets made. Dark and gray, the scene depicted Asian workers laboring in a cave to create Simpsons products: Stuffed Bart dolls made from kittens; a child dipping photographs of the iconic family into dangerous chemicals; and DVDs with the central hole punched on the horn of a dying unicorn. Earlier in the credits, Banksy’s graffiti tag was depicted on Springfield Elementary school, hinting at his authorship of the later scene.
