Oscar-nominated actor Barry Keoghan has undergone pricey cosmetic treatments after years of receiving cruel criticism over his appearance.
On Oct. 23, London-based facialist Nilam Holmes posted an Instagram video showing Keoghan undergoing Xerf, a non-invasive, needle-free radiofrequency procedure that tightens the skin.
“Every time I come in, it’s very relaxing and therapeutic,” the 34-year-old Dunkirk star, whose complexion appears radiant and glowing, said in the video.
Continuing, “Nilam looks after my skin. I feel better about myself. I look better. I think it’s important to look after yourself inside and outside.”

In the caption, Holmes wrote, “I’ve been working with Barry for a while now, looking after his skin through different movies, campaigns and projects and the trust he places in me means a lot.”

She added, “His skin has really improved over the last few years and he looks great.”

Commenters raved about the Irish actor’s skin, but also pointed out the price tag of the buzzy Korean treatment.

“I’m definitely getting this treatment when I win the lottery,” one commenter joked.
Two Xerf treatments at Holmes’ clinic cost £4,500, or about $6,000.

Keoghan deleted his social media in December 2024 after intense commentary on his looks and harassment following his split from his pop star girlfriend, Sabrina Carpenter.
“There’s a lot of hate online. There’s a lot of abuse of how I look, and it’s kind of past the point of—you know, ‘Everyone goes through that,’” he said during an interview with SiriusXM host Ben Harlum in March.
Adding, “It’s made me really go inside myself, not want to attend places, not want to go outside. And I say this being absolute pure and honest to you. It’s becoming a problem.”

In January 2024, Keoghan spoke to GQ about his looks while discussing taking on the lead role in the 2023 thriller Saltburn.
“It’s nice not just being looked at as the weird-looking guy, the unique feckin’ freaky little freak man-child, freak child-man, whatever you want to call it. It’s nice to see people kind of look at you in that way. I’ll be honest. It is nice,” he said.

Keoghan, who received a BAFTA Award and an Oscar nomination for his role in The Banshees of Inisherin in 2022, added, “My prettiness didn’t get me this far.”
He is also known for roles in movies like the Christopher Nolan-directed 2017 war drama Dunkirk, and he is set to play Ringo Starr in the upcoming Beatles biopics.
