BBC Sacks Violent ‘Top Gear’ Host

After he assaulted a producer.

A BBC investigation has found that Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson physically attacked one of the show’s producers. In a statement announcing that Clarkson’s contract will not be renewed, BBC Director General Tony Hall wrote that “a line has been crossed” and he “cannot condone what has happened on this occasion.” He also called Clarkson a “huge talent,” and emphasized that the decision was not made lightly. Top Gear will continue to air on BBC2, according to The Telegraph.
