A real moment from the hanging belay on pitch 4 (about 600 feet up the tower). @angelajpayne and I take what little cover we have as @mikelibecki cleans loose rock and debris on lead above us. He's careful to direct any loose rock away from us, as seen here flying above Angie. Sometimes there is no escaping vulnerability in terrain like this. 6 days later we were on the summit of Poumaka.

A moonscape at sea. I shot this from the bow of our small boat around 3am as we pushed and broke through miles of sea ice last month. I told our captain, in a worried voice, "Hey man, I see a lot of ice out there..." He replied "I see a lot of water." Ha! Is your fjord half full or half empty?

A few large Bulls hanging just under the surface. I am thrilled to have just received the news that this area, called "shark reef" (wonder why?), is now a Marine Protected Area. Good job Fiji! Keep my friends safe!
