Beatrice to Scale Mont Blanc
Princess Beatrice is to climb Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in western Europe, with five friends including Holly and Sam Branson, children of the virgin tycoon Richard.
It can only be hoped this trip passes of more smoothly than the last Branson/Royal hook-up: Harry's notorious Vegas vacation was preceded by a stay at Branson's island paradise, Necker Island, where he was photographed drunk in the sand.
The group also includes Isabella Calthorpe and Philip Nevin.
The group first met during the 2010 London Marathon when they were among 34 people, dressed in green tutus, who hooked themselves together with bungee ropes to set a world record for the most people to complete a marathon tied together.
The team is currently at the ski resort of Chamonix for a week’s training to prepare for the Mont Blanc climb.
The princess told the London Evening Standard: “The marathon was something where 34 friends came together and it was incredibly successful. It inspired us to create something.”
