Meet the face of tyranny in modern-day Europe: The government of Belarus, ruled by Europe’s last dictator Aleksandr Lukashenko, has warned that it may take custody of the 3-year-old boy of an opposition presidential candidate. The boy’s parents, Andrei Sannikov and Irina Khalip, were picked up after Belarus’ recent election, in which Lukashenko’s claim of victory inspired thousands of protesters to take to the streets of Minsk. The boy, Danil, is currently in his grandmother’s care.
