Berlusconi Affairs in Print

Silvio Berlusconi's scandalous love life was starting to sound like the stuff of fiction—and now it actually is. The Goldfish Doesn’t Live Here Anymore is an "erotic novel" by one of Berlusconi's former associates, Maria Gabriella Genisi. Genisi has said that she was promised a political position by Berlusconi, but that in the end another woman was given the post. The book's plot tells a similar tale, in which a woman working at a supermarket falls for a big-shot politician and is promised a seat in Parliament which is eventually given to another mistress. The author also happens to come from the town "at the centre of an inquiry into alleged prostitution after claims that women were paid to attend parties at Mr Berlusconi’s homes." Talk about a blurred line between fact and fiction.
