When Riccardo Tisci joined Givenchy in 2005, he was relatively unknown in the fashion world. The Central Saint Martins graduate had some big shoes to fill—John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, and Julian Macdonald had all been at the helm of the luxury fashion label after its founder, Hubert de Givenchy, retired in 1995. His creations, which osculate between a feminine delicacy and hard-edged masculinity, have propelled the Italian-born creative director to become one of the most ambitious and well-respected designers in the fashion world. As Tisci rings in his 40th birthday (complete with a massive, star-studded bash in Ibiza), The Daily Beast takes a look back at some of his best red-carpet looks.
