Biden's Remarks Commemorated on T-Shirts

What better way to celebrate the passage of health-care reform than with a shirt commemorating Joe Biden’s “big f-ing deal” remark? A minimum donation of $25 to President Barack Obama’s campaign, Organizing for America, will get you a T-shirt announcing “Health Reform is a BFD.” Biden’s comment, which was picked up by microphones, has been both a rallying cry and a point of humor for Democrats. Either way, it’s drawing attention. “Traffic on the Web site spiked considerably since we put the shirts on sale,” a spokesperson said. As part of a sales pitch for the shirt, OFA reads, “There are things that are a big deal—birthdays, anniversaries, the NCAA championship game. And then there are things that are a BFD, like delivering health insurance to 32 million Americans.”
