Actor Bill Murray, who played Dr. Peter Venkman in Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II, will appear in Sony's upcoming reboot of the franchise, Variety confirmed Sunday. Details of his role have yet to be revealed, but he'll make a cameo appearance to help out the all-female cast of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. Murray, who earlier was hesitant to join the reboot, will appear with former Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd, who revealed last month that he shot a scene for the film. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on July 22, 2016.
