Famed sports commentator Bill Simmons’s weekly HBO show has been canceled after only four months on the air. Any Given Wednesday premiered on June 22 as a new talk-show vehicle for the former ESPN host; his final episode aired the same night as Game 7 of the World Series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, even though his show has been nixed, HBO will continue to be a minority investor in his Bill Simmons Media Group and will likely do business with him through other means.
